Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the signing of The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, which is slated to open in 2018. Owned by Dubai master developer Nakheel, the hotel will be part of The Palm Tower, a 52-story mixed-use luxury development and the centerpiece of Dubai’s world-famous, award-winning Palm Jumeirah island. This landmark signing marks the fifth St. Regis hotel to open in the United Arab Emirates.
“We look forward to building a long-term relationship with Nakheel as we introduce the St. Regis brand and its exceptional bespoke hospitality to this landmark destination in Dubai,” said Michael Wale, President, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East. “This signing underlines the strong demand for high-end hotel accommodation in the UAE and makes Dubai the first city in the world to boast three St. Regis hotels.”
Nakheel Chairman, Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Palm Jumeirah is a global destination offering the ultimate in luxury living and leisure. Working with Starwood to open a St. Regis on The Palm reinforces what the island is all about: unrivalled, world-class facilities that set new standards for residents and tourists. The Palm Tower will be the jewel in the crown of this world-famous island and a new architectural wonder for Dubai. We are delighted that St Regis, another name synonymous with luxury, is to manage our flagship hotel, which is set to become one of the most sought-after establishments in the region.”
The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm will offer 289 guest rooms and suites, spanning the first 18 floors of Palm Tower, while the upper floors will comprise 504 luxury apartments. The hotel will feature two swimming pools, including one of the world’s highest infinity pools which will be located on the 50th floor, some 210 meters above ground and bordering all four sides of the building for a 360-degree view of the Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline. Set to become one of the most desirable addresses on The Palm, the hotel will also offer distinct dining experiences, including a signature restaurant with sweeping city views on the 51st floor and an all-day restaurant.
Guests at The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm will get to experience renowned hallmarks of the St. Regis brand such as the signature St. Regis Butler Service that provides anticipatory service and customizes each stay according to specific tastes and preferences. The hotel will offer easy access to Al Ittihad Park, Palm Jumeirah’s 1.1 million square feet green oasis that features more than 60 varieties of plants indigenous to the UAE and a 3.2 km looped running track. The Palm Monorail, which is connected to the Dubai Tram and Dubai Metro, is also easily reached.
“We are pleased to work with Nakheel on this iconic development which will further cement Starwood’s leadership position in Dubai,” said Neil George, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts – Middle East and Africa. “The continued growth of the St. Regis brand in the UAE underpins our commitment to Starwood’s luxury portfolio in this dynamic market.”
